Hadassah Emmerich - Selected Prints

The following prints by Hadassah Emmerich are hand-made "monotypes". Monotyping produces a unique print (= monotype) as most of the ink is removed during the initial pressing. Instead of using a printing press, the artist presses the printing stock directly onto the paper by hand (like a large stamp). Although subsequent reprintings of the same print stock are possible, they differ from the first print and are thus unique works. Variations result from how the plate is inked prior to each print. The variations are endless, but certain permanent features on the plate will tend to persist from one print to the next
